grrrr

It was just oneofthosedays.
Growly mother.

I tried getting it together more than once,
look beyond the frustrations,
be thankful for all the good stuff,
whine to my mother,
whine to my pals,
poor poor pitiful me.

and then
My sweetie bought me a new fluffy pillow and Josi made an obstacle course.

Still i was cranky.

i hate those kinda days.
what a waste.
wish there was a rewind button.

push rewind.  kick self in rump. start fresh.

O Sweet tomorrow.

I know its past my bedtime when.........

  • my 3 year old and 14 year old are bantering back and forth with..."don't talk to me," "no don't talk to me"

  • Josi starts telling a story over and over while trying to hang off of my back and lean around my head to give me a kiss

  • a menagerie of animals and miscellaneous toys appear on my ankle?

  • I am hunched over the computer posting sappy statuses all over facebook

  • the midnight munchies hit and I try sucking the chocolate fudge ice cream topping straight from the bottle

  • the computer keyboard falls asleep while I am typing

  • instead of just checking my account balances online, I decide it is a perfect time to reconcile 8 months worth of statements

  • every single toy ever invented creates a three foot carpet across the living room floor

  • I notice that I am counting the cursor blinks between typing

  • I realise that this list could go on for 6.5 more hours and that the signs would just continue to accumulate

Junk Mitosis

Would the person responsible for all of the crap in my basement please step forward…

Hello?  Anyone?

Ok if no one is responsible...
my theory about junk mitosis must be correct.

You see, only two years ago, I took all of the rubble from many moves and much collecting and had a garage sale.  On the block was everything that was not tied down.  I even tried to sell that scraggly box of nuts, bolts, screws and nails.  Everything that did not sell was donated.

Basement Bliss!

Fast forward to this week.

While rummaging through some books downstairs, Larry made a horrible discovery.
The box of scrapbooks that sat on the floor had a big crack in it and sometime last summer suffered from water damage.
Yep.
Moldy scrapbooks.
BOOO HOOOOOO!
Some of the victims were the world travels of Larry’s Navy days, my childhood memories and some of our wedding pictures.

I wanted to throw up.
Instead I began another basement purge.

And so started my theory…  All of the junk that disappeared a few short seasons ago had spontaneously reproduced.

  • A Christmas tree (plus 2 little ones)…along with some great decorations
  • Enough clothes to open a thrift store…all sizes available

  • 4 hand-me-down ride on toys and a plastic kitchen

  • A box of dried out squash from the garden that we never ate

  • Empty shoe boxes…I will retain an ounce of dignity and not mention any numbers but lets just say I might have a problem

Where did it come from?
No dump truck backed beeping up to my doorstep.
No Supermarket Sweep winnings (remember that show?)
No donations brought in for my orphan children.

I guess if it did not reproduce itself, it must have gotten down there one hurried chuck from the top of the stairs at a time.

Arrrg.

Today…

Finally finished my striped room painting project!  Love Love Love it, even though I might dream about yellow paint tape for a few more weeks.

Stopped by the best place in the universe for a yummy grape Italian soda and visited with my girls at the Daily Grind.

Organized my basement with my new red boxes…well not really, but I did organize a few children!

Folded 800000000000 loads of laundry and put them away. Now I hereby declare the rest of 2011 the year of the nudists, cuz I am going on strike!!
